Cougar Woman, You're My Only Hope!

Had a fine time straining my eyes and soaking up the vibes on the mosquito infested patio of this group of good ol' friends getting inebriated and silly in the suburbs of Jersey,  back in the summer of '09.  The egghead guy was the second guy this year to 'jokingly' threaten to beat me up. Ahhhh, the risks we caricaturists undertake for the sake of a self-satisfied chuckle at the expense of fragile egos (surely I jest!).

Lobsters, Kielbasa, and Hamburgers Oh My! And Caricatures Too...

The Annual NJ State Trooper’s Picnic. Yes, you read that correctly. Kids can be State Troopers too. I left this party with 6 lobsters and a mountain of Ziploc bagged hamburgers, hot dogs, kielbasa, corn, and slaw, a full belly, and a stupid grin on my face. Thanks again Kat and Kevin!

  

Ruh-Roh!

Since I have amassed a large-ish backlog of live and gift caricature files, mainly from sitting on my bum and forgetting about my blog back when this stuff was fresh and relevant, and since I have a lack of new stuff  (few gigs, few commissions, bleh...) this year so far, I see this as a perfect opportunity to 'refresh' my blog with some new posts ...of old stuff, going back to, well, a couple years for now. So to borrow a phrase from a good caricature artist friend of mine, (whom I'm sure won't mind...right?) I will be posting 'Retro' caricatures and illos and whatnot from the recent past (starting with July 2009) and farther back. Call it an early spring cleaning if you will. I call it 'better late than never'. Enjoy!

Barking In the New Year

Happy 2110! Er, I mean 2010 – man time goes fast these days! Here I am happily posting away in October 2oo9, trying to catch up to stuff I didn’t get to post from June 2009, and lo and behold, three whole months somehow slipped by, and now it’s January??? huh! New Year’s Resolution: Start living in real time! Wish me luck….sheesh…

Anyway here’s some happy fluffy customers from a June gig at Best Friends Pet Care in Berlin, NJ.

Alan Across America!

I did this drawing of a guy named Alan Sherman riding across the U.S. in a ’short bus’ (politically incorrect term: ‘The Tart Cart’) for a proposed road trip reality show pilot, that’s being documented on facebook. The guy happens to be a friend of a friend from my old high school - this friend contacted me that Alan’s producer was looking for a caricaturist for his site and t-shirt design, and well, here it is! Who says befriending your old high school chums on facebook can’t be more than a useless trawl through the musty halls of nostalgia? Thanks Mark, Brian, and most of all – Alan!
