Husky Du/Shoot Out at the Crayola Factory

This past Saturday, along with my buddy Patfreak Harringtoon,  I drew up some fluffy Huskies (and other breeds too, such as the strange and rare homo sapien) as a retail vendor for an event for Tails of the Tundra Siberian Rescue (http://www.siberescue.com/) in Warminster park. While it wasn't the busiest we could have been, it was fun for the 5-6 hours, and we learned more than we ever thought was possible about Husky markings, eye colors, uh, fluffiness...okay, there wasn't all that much to learn about them but damn they're some beautiful animals, and you should adopt one today (that is of course, if you don't mind dealing with all that fur...)! I also got a nice sunburn down the right side of my neck and arm, as the sun kept seeking me out, only to destroy (that's a Stooges reference for ya, what you didn't know that?), even under my tent. Pat's lillywhiteness wasn't touched, but a crazy wind kept blowing off his hat - haha! Anyway, here's a buncha photos from the event, starting with the sign I drew to replace the well-intentioned but uh, not exactly accurately spelled (and way too small)  'cariacuture' sign the event promoter had for me, but oh well! Great people, great faces, great fur, great heat and wind...

A couple hours later, I met up again with "Pat Trick Hair In Tongue" for a crazed Sweet 16 event at the waxy-smelling Crayola Factory in Easton PA, the place where the crayon was invented (okay, I just pulled that one out of my a$$), where we melted down some faces (I can't resist bad puns, can I? No I can't). So did I draw with crayons? No, but what the hell, I should have! Anyways, it was some good fun we had with those always hilarious teenage faces (who were very receptive to me and Pat's weird and twisted styles), as well as some adults, kids, and waitstaff too.
Once again I apologize for the grainy picture quality...iphone cameras still suck ...
I love how the dude painted on the wall is gawking at the Sweet 16 Birthday girl. Creepy!

Tickling the bizzle and Floating the Boats...with Ice Cream

Yep, I'm doing more summer cleanin' here, trying desperately to crawl back up to the present with my blog posts, with one foot in the gutter, and one fist in the goal (to quote the awful Riki Rachtman). Just as I get a bunch of photos posted from the recent past (mid-June '10), I comb through the archives and find stuff I never posted before that I still tickles my bizzle, so here they be - don't strain yer eyes too much trying to read the dates and whatnot....it's more for my own peace o' mind, and hopefully for YOUR pleasure - not that anyone's looking at this blog judging from my Facebook 'fan page' "Insights"...Probably cuz I keep inundating the FB newsfeed with all this backlogged stuff that nobody's got the time or interest to peruse. Oh well, it floats my boat!

2 pix from a company party for a giant potato chip company
whose name is the opposite of 'His'

Backyard Grad Party I made a surprise visit too in June.
Philly to the bone these people be.

Creative and spontaneous sugared up kids partying in as silly a manner as 12 year olds can - by having a creative and spontaneous caricature artist come to their party and draw whatever they want. Not that I had any Idea what i was drawing, all I know is these kids were laughing the whole time.

Some kind of patriotic festival in Philadelphia where I drew nothing but a couple of guys selling ice cream. But boy am I glad I drew nothing but these guys, cuz it turned me on to the best old-fashioned ice cream parlor in the city - Franklin Fountain! Mmmmmm!
In the words of Ben Franklin: 'Energy and Persistence Conquer All Things'.
Especially when you've got a sweet tooth for a Cherries Jubilee...

Some office types here having their dreary, monotonous days busted up with some free flowing silliness. Every office needs a caricaturist. Or at least every office party!

Johnny Ryan and Schoolly D are NOT in this Post...

...but their names are! Ha ha. Now that I've got your attention, provided you have any idea who those two people are anyway (and most people don't so don't feel bad, chum), here's some of my wacky & wild Caricatoonz drawn live at some nice people's parties, starting with...
50th Birthday Party in Peddler's Village for the great Johnny Ryan, of 'Angry Youth Comix' and 'Blecky Yuckerella' infamy...uh, er, what? Not the same one? Oh well, pretty cool people anyway, and I probably did draw on quite a bit of that twisted cartoonist's influence here anyway...

Johnny Ryan with wife, in all his blurry glory. Could have done a lot better on his Benny Hill-ish face, but oh well. I like how I captured her though.

Crazy teens at a Philly Sweet 16 in a darkly lit massive entertainment venue. The mother of the birthday girl was (supposedly) good friends with O.G. Philly rapper Schoolly D. Would have been cool if he was invited!

Mardi Gras Party at the Bryn Mawr Library - Les Bon Temps Roule!
I love drawing the elderly! It's even better when they like the exaggerated, weird stuff that I do, which they did!
